What happens at the Centre School of English?
School Life
Our School has clean, modern classrooms and a warm, friendly atmosphere.
All our teachers were born in the UK and are native English speakers...and they are fully qualified, experienced professionals who love teaching - and they will do everything they can to help you improve your English while you are with us.
On your first day at the Centre School of English, you will take a short grammar test—this is to check your level of English so that we can put you in the best class for your ability. We have classes for everyone and with our help you will quickly improve your speaking, listening, reading, writing and grammar skills.
At our School, we have a maximum of 10 students in each of our large classrooms, which means you get much more individual attention from your teacher and lots more talking time to practice your English!
The Centre School is on the edge of the safe, car-free zone in the middle of Bournemouth and only a few minutes walk from the beach, gardens, taxis and buses.
There are lots of shops and cafes close to the School, as well as restaurants, pubs, theatres, cinemas and beautiful parks.
Do you like sports? You can play pool and darts in our Student Lounge—we also have FREE wireless internet access for our students. Golf, tennis and tenpin bowling are available nearby—and we regularly arrange our own private school excursions, class meals, sports tournaments and pub tours!

Our UK Studies Director says, “At the Centre School of English, we try to keep our class sizes to a maximum of 10 students, which gives each student in the group a very good chance to speak for a long time. And small classes allow the teacher to give the students much more individual attention. There are language schools in Bournemouth with much larger classes - some cram up to 20 students in a room during the summer - and that usually means the students only get to speak for a few minutes each day. That's no way to improve your speaking and listening skills!”
